Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. She's performed on Broadway and at the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine has been born Denise White. Her birthplace is Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing the piano and singing in church. Her musical career began in Atlanta at Spellman College. She became the primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choir leader of the stage production. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
